Florida’s Primary Moved Up

Florida has moved up the state primary to January 29th, only a week after the New Hampshire primary.  The Florida legislature defied a threat by both parties, who said they would penalize most states holding primaries before February 5th.  William Galvin, the Secretary of State in Massachusetts, means New Hampshire will move its primary earlier.  William Gardner, NH’s Secretary of State, wouldn’t rule out holding the primary before the New Year.

Currently, Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani lead Florida state polling by significant margins.  Clinton has already been endorsed by two representatives from Florida, Alcee Hastings and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  On the Republican side, John McCain has the most Floridian congressional endorsements with four.
