Not Once, But Twice

April 12, 2007

Last weekend, the native Iowan Zach Johnson won the Masters golf tournament by two strokes. In response to their constituent winning the prestigious event, both Iowa Senators, Tom Harkin and Chuck Grassley praised him on the Senate floor.

On April 10, Senator Harkin spoke about S. Res 145, among other things saying “Zach Johnson showed great skill, patience and will to withstand the challenge of the weather and the course”, which he certainly did do.

The next day, Senator Grassley also congratulated Johnson on the Senate floor, commenting that “Zach not only won one of the most difficult golf tournaments in the world, he also won quite possibly one of the most difficult of all the Masters’ tournaments in history”.
